Information we collect
When you request a valuation or contact us, we may collect:

- Vehicle details: registration, make, model, year, fuel type, mileage, service history, MOT status, condition, mechanical condition and the condition of the tyres and brakes.
- Photos: any photos of your car you choose to upload. They're stored online at unlisted web addresses so our team can view them, so please avoid including people or other personal information in them.
- Ownership details: whether there is outstanding finance and how much, whether you hold the V5C logbook, the number of keys, previous taxi or private hire use, your reason for selling and your expected price.
- Dealer enquiries: if you request a call back as a dealer, your name, dealership, email address, phone number, location and best time to call.
- Communications: anything you tell us by email, phone or message.
- Technical information: such as your IP address, browser and how you use the site, collected through cookies where you have agreed to them. See our cookie policy.
How we use your information

Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We rely on:
- Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, when you ask for a valuation or to sell your car.
- Contract, when we buy or arrange the sale of your car.
- Legitimate interests, for running and improving our business and preventing fraud, where these are not outweighed by your rights.
- Legal obligation, for keeping financial records and complying with the law.
- Consent, for non-essential cookies and marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Dealers in our network, so they can make an offer. We share your vehicle details for this, and only share your contact details where needed to progress a sale you have agreed to.

- Finance companies, to settle any outstanding finance on your car.
- Professional advisers, regulators and law enforcement, where required by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for up to 12 months if it does not lead to a sale, so we can follow up on your valuation. If we complete a sale, we keep the relevant records for six years to meet tax and legal requirements. After that, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it.
- Ask for your information in a portable format.
